Florida’s Foundation today announced AT&T as the 2011 Signature Sponsor for the Gubernatorial Fellows Program. This sponsorship will provide additional educational opportunities and a financial incentive for students to choose public service as a career.
“Enabling our best and brightest students to participate in the governance of Florida is a win-win partnership for the state and the students” says Marshall M. Criser, III, AT&T President Florida “The Gubernatorial Fellows program provides a unique opportunity for our young people to personally see the benefit of public service and the impact that public policy can have on Florida’s future. At the same time, they bring fresh perspective and ideas to the process of government.”
The Florida Gubernatorial Fellows Program, which began in 2004, was created from the belief that the best way to ensure Florida’s greatness is to actively educate and cultivate its future leaders. This non-partisan program immerses students from public and private universities in key areas of state government. During their nine-month tenure in Tallahassee, Fellows receive advanced on-the-job training as well as an invaluable front-line view of the inner workings of government.
The mission of the nonprofit Florida’s Foundation is to strengthen Florida by making positive changes in the lives of Florida’s families through initiatives developed under the leadership of the State of Florida and its citizens.
The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization and a registered charity within the state of Florida. For verification, please phone the Division of Consumer Services at 800-435-7352. Florida’s Foundation’s registration number is CH8536. The organization is guided by a voluntary board of directors.
